SHC of Fentress County Explores Cades Cove

On Monday, November 17, SHC of Fentress County and Standing Stone Care & Rehab, also a Signature HealthCARE facility, teamed up for a Gatlinburg adventure to Cades Cove.

Cades Cove is one of the most visited areas in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The isolated valley was once home to an entire community. Visitors can see homes, churches, and school buildings from a bygone era.

Although it was a cold and snowy day, it did not stop the residents from enjoying the beauty of the valley and the surrounding mountains. Braving the cold weather, the residents were treated to sightings of wild deer, turkeys, and squirrels scampering through the trees. Seeing the still-standing pioneer homes and buildings was like traveling back in time.

The day ended with a buffet dinner at the Golden Corral in Sevierville, Tennessee. They were hosting an appreciation night for all veterans. It was truly an honor to get to share a meal with all of those American heroes.

We here at Signature HealthCARE are truly blessed to share and fellowship together as a family and enjoy these wonderful journeys with our amazing elders!
