On May 1st, 2014 SHC of Fentress County participated in the National Day of Prayer. The theme this year was “In Defiance of Suffering.” Raymond Phillips, pastor of Unity Missionary Baptist Church of Allardt, Tennessee, officiated. Thad Collier, pastor of the Jamestown Methodist Church and Fentress County Executive Frank Smith were in attendance along with a host of friends and family.
Elders Terry Crockett and Beachel Creselious gave personal testimonies about their spiritual journey and what the National Day of Prayer meant to them. The ceremony concluded with a prayer chain of approximately 100 hundred elders, stakeholders and visitors holding hands and praying in unison.
